Using high-pressure hydraulics for the assembly and disassembly of a 230-ton structure! A case of developing a unique system.
The Belgian company Stageco built three massive identical stages for the U2 360° tour. One of the construction requirements was that the stage could be assembled and disassembled relatively quickly. Therefore, the company's challenge was how to assemble and dismantle a massive structure weighing 230 tons each time. To address this, the company collaborated with Enerpac to develop a unique system based on the Synchronous Lift System. This allowed them to lift the modular structure quickly and safely to a height of 30 meters. In the world of entertainment, it is clear that shows are becoming increasingly larger and better. This new technology provides set designers with more freedom, enabling them to create grand stages in more locations.
